Stop Stigma Sacramento Resources

Calling or texting 988 or chatting 988lifeline.org will connect individuals in crisis to compassionate care and support for any mental health or substance use-related distress. The 988 Lifeline offers free and confidential support for anyone in crisis. That includes people who need support for a suicidal, mental health and/or substance use crisis, or who are in emotional distress.

Sacramento County Division of Behavioral Health Services provides mental health services for adults and children at facilities throughout the county. Services vary according to age and individual needs, and may include:

  • Assistance with accessing behavioral health services for underserved, limited English proficient populations
  • Evaluation and assessment
  • Brief therapy and counseling for individuals, family and groups
  • Peer and family member support
  • Crisis residential – a short-term residential program that provides a less restrictive alternative to hospitalization
  • Case management
  • Medication evaluation and support
  • Hospitalization
